Telemedicine aids diabetes care

School-based e-consultations can improve disease control and quality of life for children with diabetes, research suggests.

Researchers from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, studied 41 children, aged five to 14, with type-1 diabetes. All participants received standard outpatient care and, in addition, 23 were randomised to a telemedicine intervention programme.
